With combined degrees in health law, nursing and business, Debra has distinguished herself in the healthcare arena on many levels. A proven executive thought leader on the forefront of emerging issues/trends including ACOs, shared risk and value-based models, Chronic Disease Management, Transitional Care Program/Services and Integrated Healthcare delivery models. In addition to being a nationally and internally sought-after consultant, expert in planning and implementation, Debra is passionate about clinical/operational excellence and meaningful positive clinical and financial outcomes.
Prior to joining the Loran Group, Debra served as President & Chief Operations Officer with a healthcare management company and national ACO specializing in physician practice networks. While there she focused on partnerships and alignment of innovative post-acute care delivery models. She has also held senior clinical and strategic positions with Gentiva Health Services, Cantex-Continuing Health Network, and Golden Living where she led efforts to integrate multiple post-acute care providers across a wide spectrum of services and multiple platforms into networks that provided better patient care and improved clinical outcomes.
Debra’s experience includes the establishment of both a dedicated National Performance Improvement & Outcomes team a dedicated National Clinical Practice team to design, execute and monitor evidence-based practice and outcomes related to specialty. Clinically innovative, Debra has worked with providers to reduce Medicare spend related to readmissions and specialist care. Most notably is her work on an Institute for Healthcare Improvement Collaborative that led to a reduction in hospital readmissions, for CHF patients, of greater than 30% in multiple locations in a 10 month period.
Debra received her Masters of Jurisprudence – Major Health Law – from Loyola University Chicago School of Law where she graduated Summa Cum Laude. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from combined studies at University of Utah and Kaplan University where she graduated Summa Cum Laude. She attained her Certification in Gerontology Physical Assessment (NP level) – University of Utah School of Nursing and Nurse Practitioner/C.N.P. in Women’s Health – U.C.L.A. from the Harbor Women’s Nurse Practitioner Program. Debra’s initial Registered Nursing degree is from the University of Kentucky. Debra and her husband currently live outside of Dallas.
